Let me introduce myself
This is Mary’s Newsletter, a newsletter about grief and other messy things in life. This newsletter is semi-private, meaning unless you’re actively looking for it or if I sent it to you, you’re not going to find it.
Hi, my name is Mary and I am a...
Grieving daughter
I lost my mom in the summer of 2021 to cancer/post surgical complications. The loss itself was messy, our relationships are left messy, and healing has been and still is messy. It is my hope that, by sharing some of this mess, I can find a space to form somewhat of a broken hearts club, where grieving adults can feel safe and heard.
Model minority
I’m a classic try-hard woman of colour living in Canada. For as long as I could remember, my self worth = my accomplishments (on paper). Good grades, honour roll, piano, decent tech job fresh out of school, the whole shebang. Exploring myself was always last on the to do list, and obviously never got done.
Anxiety disorder sufferer
In 2017 I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and seasonal depression. This means the stuff I write about will definitely touch on anxiety, depression and extend to other mental health issues. You’ve been warned.
